Friday 25 June 2010

So here we are on the beautiful Isle of Skye. We arrived last night and had a wee dram in the town square. Today we did a lunchtime gig in Portree High School....Amazing, kids are truly nuts!!

Tonight the festival stage is in the Town Square, should be amazing, 4 bands playing through till about 10.30pm

The festival is all day Saturday, we are headlining at about 9.30pm, 500/700 expected in the venue, should be a lot of fun. I love it here and we love the people here who put this festival on, they are family : )

Will post up photos and vids later tonight.

CALVARY FELLOWSHIP & NYC

Ok, so its 8am, we are leaving Downingtown PA and heading to NYC for a photo shoot and radio slot with Sirius XM in Times Square.

Thanks to everyone at Calvary Fellowship for being so nice.

Looking forward to spending a bit more time in New York and working with new photographer from the US.

Sirius reaches about 12 Million people across America, so it's by far the biggest radio exposure we've had and should help us.

Ok, well will let you know how it goes!

Here is a wee pic of the gig last night

Tonight we played in Mount Hope Church Youth Centre. 300 kids piled in and we rocked some face!

Mike Paolicelli, our speaker on the tour, who was absolutely amazing. 51 kids respoded to the call to salvation, thats about 15% of the crowd!!

Amazing stuff, so good to see so many young people getting touched by God.

The entire 300 strong crowd had dressed as superheroes!! Even had a guy dressed as AmishMan.....lol so good.

WE WON'T BE VOTING!

So we head back out to th US on May the 5th. The day before the General Election here in the UK. As per usual, great timing from Superhero ; )

We all forgot to register for the postal vote, so for me, for the first time ever, I won't be voting. Instead, we will be in Grantsville, Maryland on 'He's Alive Radio' doing our first, of many, radio shows on this trip.

We will, of course, be following all the action with great interest.

This is an important and significant trip for a number of reasons. Firstly we are traveling with an evangelist from the Palau Association, which we believe will increase the fruitfulness of the tour and reduce the chances of Tim (me) saying things like "is there anyone here who wants to become a chicken? I mean Christian!!" And, "We celebrate today because we know God is a Victorian!!" I could go on.......Also, we are booked onto a lot of radio shows in between gigs, with one really quite big show in New York on Sirius Radio towards the end of the trip, which goes out to a few million Americans, and indeed many more across the world. So we are hoping that God will help Tim not say anything too controversial to so many Americans! And also that people will connect with the band, our reasons for doing what we do and, of course our music!

We also get to ride the new bus! Very un-superhero like I know, but the bus is proper blinged up and it's a total blessing having it......believe me, we've payed our dues when it comes to travel!

So look after the country while we are away please and keep coming back to the blog from May 5th onwards to see us on our next Big American Adventure : )

Thursday 1 April 2010

Ok, well, after a great start to the year, with a great tour, huge progress made with the new record and a new publishing deal signed, we are now looking forward to the next 3 months, with a trip to Paris this w/e to our great friends at Festival de Paques and then a short tour in the south of England.

May sees us travel across to the USA for the month, where we are concentrating on playing some gigs, about 11 in all, and doing a whole load of radio stuff, including Sirius, in NYC, which is the big one!

June sees the start of the Festival season, with trips to NI for Fuel, Skye Festival '10 + many more.

Ok, well, we will post up some pics and vids of our trip to France next week

Sunday 21 February 2010

Hereford last night. I lived in Hereford for a few years, back in the day. Good to see some old mates.

Great to see young people responding to the gospel and getting excited about God.

Great time of praise, so amazing to see God move like that, people getting blessed. Our decision is to not 'lead' the worship, but to help create an environment where people feel free to express, contribute, take a lead....etc etc so so good, no passive onlookers just a big group of Jesus lovers sharing a moment in time together where God is among us.....amazing. More of the same tonight, can hardly wait.

Derby tonight.

Friday 19 February 2010

Manchester tonight, the Venue Academy. Also playing was Phillipa Hanna and band. Good night, lovely people, great meatballs after the gig.

Another festival booking today also. North Fest!

Ok, cup of tea.

Thursday 18 February 2010

Here is a wee pic of us today singing EMERGENZA in the TV studio
Today I had to mime 2 songs for a TV show! It sucked! The journey to the studio sucked, the traffic sucked, the weather sucked, the studio was like a sauna....which sucked and the coffee sucked. On a positive note, George fixed my coffee machine, hoorah for George!

Mike forgot the keys for the petrol cap....that sucked! On a positive note, I dont have to get up at stupid o-clock in the morning. Staying in Yorkshire tonight. Playing at Manchester University tomorrow, really hope that the bar at the uni is showing the rugby.

Playing in Hereford on Sat and then Derbyshire on Sun, travel back through the night to Glasgow.

We have been booked for a festival in Belgium and also one in Norway, it looks like its going to be a 'fly a lot' year. I hate airports so much, I cant even think about it!

On a positive note....I wrote 2 great songs this month which will definately get on the new record. I've been reading Jurgen Moltemann's Theology of Hope and I've been thinking a lot about unity and how important it is that we dont get too caught up in local church activity that we start to forget about the bigger picture. My songs are going to be about unity......a lot!!

We don't have Nick, our sound man, with us this w/e.....which sucks!
